The Arboretum Pledge

At your service

We’ve taken a pledge for the planet

We’re here for every member of your family tree, today and tomorrow. And to ensure there’s a future we can all enjoy, we’re committed to doing good not just behind our desks, but out in the world as well.

Arboretum has teamed up with Tree-Nation to plant a new tree every month on behalf of every client we work with. In its mission to reforest the world, Tree-Nation plants trees and engages in conservation projects wherever trees are likely to have a positive impact on the local environment, populations, and climate.

Our monthly commitment to sponsor trees means we’re taking a stand against climate change and offsetting the emissions we produce in the course of our daily work. Best of all, we get to choose where in the world we plant our trees and the type of species to plant.

The projects we support

Usambara Biodiversity Conservation

Our project aims to preserve biodiversity in the Eastern Arc Mountains rainforest. To achieve this, we focus on reversing deforestation around the Forest Nature Reserve, promoting environmental conservation education, and alleviating extreme poverty through agroforestry initiatives.

Reforestation of National Forests

Our project focuses on restoration, conservation, and wildlife protection. Wildfires and insect infestations have severely damaged these forests, threatening their long-term health. In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, we manage 154 national forests covering 80 million hectares, working to re-establish seed sources, support regeneration, and strengthen resilience against future infestations.

Ireland Community Tree Planting

Our project will address long-term ecological and biodiversity losses in Ireland. After decades of deforestation, many formerly forested areas of the island of Ireland are now treeless and desolate. With this first step, we will be planting 10,000 trees as a strategy to regenerate original and crucial temperate rainforest habitat. Alongside this, this will engage the wider community, including the general public, businesses, and schoolchildren.

Forest Gardens - Simiyu Region

Our project employs a unique agroforestry approach that benefits local farmers and the environment. Monoculture and logging have degraded the land and left farmers reliant on a single source of income. So far, over 700 farmers are using the Forest Garden approach to rebuild food systems, improve livelihoods, and restore the environment. CO2 per species is rounded to 50kg, as this project is twinned with VCS credits.

Restoration and Social Empowerment

This project supports under-resourced communities (ejidos) in restoring degraded forests. Hotter seasons, intensified rains, wildfires, and illegal logging have weakened forests, leading to thinning, soil erosion, and water depletion. The ejidos, as forest owners, lead tree planting and maintenance, with women often at the forefront, improving the resilience of the forests and preventing further human-caused damage.

Lost Forests Recovery in California

Our project focuses on restoring forests lost to recent wildfires in California. Wildfires are becoming more frequent and severe due to climate change, with rising temperatures and prolonged droughts following historically low rainfall. By replanting native trees and rehabilitating damaged ecosystems, we help these forests recover and build resilience against future wildfires.

Boreal Forest Habitat Restauration

We are restoring Manitoba's Boreal Forests by planting native trees in collaboration with local Indigenous communities. These forests, damaged by pest infestations and wildfires, need proper management to recover and withstand future threats. By planting native species and ensuring forest maintenance, we can guarantee their long-term resilience and restoration.

Preservation of Mt. Elgon Ecosystem

Our project works with over 54k local farmers in the Mount Elgon region to grow trees and build sustainable livelihoods. Uganda has lost at least 12% of its tree cover since 2001, threatening both the environment and local communities. By focusing on forest restoration and reducing the need for logging and unsustainable agriculture, we work to reverse this trend and protect the land for future generations.

Agroforestry Tree Plantation

The Agroforestry Tree Plantation project empowers small and marginalized farmers by promoting sustainable agroforestry farming practices. By planting diverse tree species on degraded farmland, we want to create sustainable livelihoods for small and marginal farmers through innovative agroforestry models that improve soil quality and reduce the impact of climate change.
